The Position Overview:


The Gas Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of inventory and delivery to customers, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements.

This role supports the execution of supply optimisation plans, management of scheduling activities, and the coordination with internal teams, upstream suppliers, and SLNG closely to maintain 24/7 operational readiness.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with counterparties including upstream suppliers, and downstream customers to coordinate and nominate capacity booking to meet customer requirements in accordance with optimal gas/LNG supply plans
  • Liaise with Ship owners / operators and Terminal Marine Operations team for ship-to-shore compatibility assessment for LNG operations
  • Ensure accurate communication with upstream supplies, SLNG and internal teams to manage operational updates and contingencies
  • Supply Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track daily gas flow, and offtake, and terminal operations to detect anomalies or non-conformance
  • Develop and execute contract performance monitoring processes for downstream gas buyers, and gas shipping activities, inclusive of stewarding nomination and commodity variance exposures
  • Plan and optimize terminal capacity booking costs to achieve target cost savings
  • Conduct goods receipt and delivery reconciliations for billing and compliance purposes
  • Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for the Manager, Commercial Operations, highlighting key performance metrics, variances, and risks
  • Compliance & Process Execution
  • Follow operational SOPs and emergency procedures to ensure safe and compliant gas delivery
  • Support audits, regulatory submissions, and performance monitoring processes for upstream sellers and downstream buyers
  • Assist in the development, testing, and enhancement of operational processes, IT systems, and change management initiatives
  • Team & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Supply team, Commercial Operations team as well as Cargo Operators to ensure seamless operations and support portfolio optimisation
  • Provide operational support to the commercial team for contract performance reviews and regulatory consultations when required


Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Energy-related, Engineering, Operations Management or related field
  • Strong understanding of LNG/gas supply chains, terminal scheduling and operations, and gas market operations.
  • Operations background on terminal operations, gas connection, transportation and distribution; knowledge of quality and flow measurement preferred
  • Familiar with Singapore's gas market and licensing framework is preferred
  • Familiar with IT systems, database management and inventory management systems
  • Strong attention to detail, operational discipline, and ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
  • Minimally 2 years of experience in LNG/gas operations, terminal operations, or commercial scheduling roles; experience with 24/7 operational readiness is preferred
