Job Title: Performance Engineer

This role is responsible for optimizing plant performance, process expertise, and operational excellence in energy and utilities asset management.

  • Carry out plant performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure good plant availability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Establish and improve the monitoring matrix to enable detection of short-term and long-term process abnormalities. Work closely with O&M teams to address issues.
  • Conduct quarterly performance tests with operation teams. Lead data analysis, identify gaps, recommend actions, and follow through implementation for closure.
  • Monitor plant water chemistry and recommend adjustments such as boiler blowdown control and chemical injection.
  • Establish, improve, and monitor plant and system mass balances (heat, material, and water). Identify abnormalities and lead stakeholders to rectify issues.
  • Track GHG emission intensity to achieve sustainability goals.
  • Provide technical expertise in optimization initiative conceptualization and implementation. Track performance and cost savings benefits qualification and post-implementation review.
  • Support performance managers with assigned work.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • 2 - 6 years' experience in power/utilities plant operation, performance monitoring, or process engineering.
  • Process expertise in energy from waste sectors and/or power plant water chemistry will be an advantage.
