Researcher Opportunities in Aquaculture Genetics and Genomics

Our team is seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our aquaculture genetics and genomics group. The primary focus of this role will be on advancing the understanding of genetic traits and genomic data in aquaculture species.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in aquaculture genetics and genomics, focusing on quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping and genome-wide association studies (GWAS). This includes designing and executing experiments, analyzing genomic data, and interpreting results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct QTL mapping and GWAS analysis using various bioinformatics tools and software
  • Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses related to aquaculture genetics and genomics
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to ongoing projects
  • Analyze and interpret genomic data to identify patterns and correlations
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific conferences

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a PhD in Aquaculture Genetics and Genomics or a closely related field. They will also have demonstrated expertise in QTL mapping and GWAS, as well as proven ability to work independently and manage research projects effectively.
