Job Description

At a leading autism-focused school in Singapore, we are seeking an experienced professional to join our team of professionals dedicated to transforming lives and making a meaningful impact on the autism community.

As a specialist at this school, you will work closely with students with autism, aged 7-18 years, who are cognitively able to access the national curriculum but require additional support. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us provide life readiness skills and social communication support to our students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessment & Report Writing: Conduct cognitive assessments, write reports for Access Arrangements for national exams, Mental Capacity for deputyship, and co-develop assessment processes for other areas of need.
  • Intervention: Develop and deliver individual behaviour plans, manage an emergency support line, participate in school-wide initiatives on positive approaches to behaviour support, make necessary referrals to external services, and plan and deliver classroom-based lessons on skills related to work habits, self-regulation, and social communication.
  • Program Development: Participate in curriculum and program development projects that cater to the needs of our students.
  • Coaching/Training: Provide training, consultation, and instruction to educators on social-emotional and behavioural issues related to autism, deliver training to parents, and plan and deliver training to external stakeholders who support our students.
Requirements

We seek a candidate with:

  • A registered membership with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or eligibility for full registration without further supervision.
  • A passion to learn about autism and serve the autism community.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changes and different perspectives.
  • The ability to work independently and collaborate as a team member in a dynamic work environment.
