Data Center Project Lead

This role is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of data center projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. As a Data Center Project Lead, you will be the key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure project alignment and successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans to deliver data center projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are managed.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure that technical solutions align with data center standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Budget and Timeline Management: Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, provide regular progress updates, and prepare executive reports.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of project governance frameworks, best practices, and continuous improvement in project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in data center-related projects (infrastructure, networking, server/storage, cloud migration, or facilities integration).
  • Strong knowledge of data center technologies (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cabling, power/cooling, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data center compliance standards (ISO, SOC, Tier certifications).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or Agile certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing vendors, contractors, and cross-functional IT teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to converse in Mandarin at business proficiency level to engage with China clients.
Travel Requirements:

This role may require up to 30-40% travel to data center sites across Johor, Malaysia, depending on project locations.
