Research Opportunities in Quantum Chemistry

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team and work on a project focused on developing sustainable energy solutions using advanced materials and computational methods.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project addressing polysulfide shuttling in sulfur cathodes for lithium-ion batteries using catalytically active materials with high conductivity that can anchor and catalytically convert polysulfides.

This will involve applying DFT-based electrochemical simulation as the main method, with high-throughput screening and machine learning integrated into DFT calculations.

The researcher will be responsible for developing novel catalysts using DFT calculations to improve battery performance, conducting high-throughput screening and machine learning integration to optimize catalyst properties, and working closely with other researchers to achieve project goals.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in materials science and electrochemistry, excellent communication skills, and experience in performing DFT calculations and high-throughput calculations. Experience in batteries and machine learning is also desirable.

Requirements
  • A PhD degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a closely related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to guide undergraduate students.
  • Experience in performing DFT calculations and high-throughput calculations is mandatory.
  • Experience in batteries and machine learning is preferred.
