Job Title: Structural Design Specialist

Job Summary:

  • Develop structural design concepts that meet Class and Technical specification requirements.
  • Responsible for delivering project design drawings and documents within assigned schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review external designers' pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement, and drawing lists.
  • Liaise with owners and classification societies for design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
  • Conduct technical assessments of offers made by suppliers.
  • Prepare arrangement and detail outfitting drawings.
  • Develop and update weight reports (weight and center of gravity).
  • Coordinate with detail designers/production designers and check their processes and output.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in marine/offshore industry detail design for hull outfitting newbuilding engineering design.
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Microsoft Office/AVEVA.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with shipbuilding software and equipment sourcing.
  • Knowledge of safety and architectural outfitting regulations.
