The position of Manual Tester involves conducting comprehensive testing on software applications to identify defects and ensure adherence to quality standards. To excel in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test scenarios and cases based on business requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure thorough testing coverage.
  • Conduct manual testing to identify defects and document, track, and report them using test management tools.
  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, scripts, and reports.
  • Perform regression testing to confirm that new code changes do not impact existing functionalities.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test environments and assisting end-users during testing phases.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of testing activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Information Systems.
  • Proven experience of at least 2-4 years in manual testing, preferably within an application development environment.
  • Proficient in test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, and similar platforms.
  • Experience in SIT functional testing, SQL, and scripting.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess software functionality.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for identifying even minor defects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for seamless collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Background in specific sectors such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
  • ISTQB Certified.
