About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Risk Management Specialist to join our Group Compliance team at United Overseas Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for providing independent and objective perspective on residual compliance risk through a robust risk identification, assessment, and management process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate internal stakeholders' design of control processes and solutions that cut across business and geographies through practical translation of regulatory obligations into sustainable operational requirements.
  • Monitor and perform regular assessments of business compliance risks, enforcing effective remediation through root-cause analysis to address underlying issues.
  • Develop a robust compliance review plan and perform reviews on end-to-end controls using a risk-based approach.
  • Deploy data analytics to enable proactive monitoring and management of compliance risk, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance review work.
  • Establish tailored training programs to foster compliance literacy and promote the bank's compliance culture and ethical conduct.
  • Establish communication surveillance methodology and perform surveillance on in-scope dealing staff.
  • Advise the bank's leadership on emerging regulations and regulatory issues surrounding strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, and Financial Advisers Act, preferably with experience in Treasury banking businesses.
  • Possess market acumen to adjust and adapt to changing regulatory landscapes.
  • Good degree in Accounting, Law, Business, Banking & Finance or equivalent.
  • At least 6-8 years in legal, compliance, audit, risk management, or regulatory work in the financial services industry.
  • Good writing and communication skills, with ability to develop strong working partnerships with Global Markets and internal stakeholders.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

Compensation Package

We offer an attractive compensation package, including a competitive salary of SGD 120,000 - 180,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off.
