Job Description

The Resident Engineer is responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring that it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Monitor contractors' daily activity, site progress, schedule, and safety on site
  • Carry out administrative works and other duties as required by the Project Manager/Superintending Officer/Consultant/Employer
  • Review and check all drawings, specifications, and ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans/drawings
  • Must be familiar with Singapore code of practice (COP), regulations, and statutory requirements
  • Highlight discrepancies, feedback site progress, and non-conformances/irregularities to the QP/Consultants/Employer
  • Assist in reviewing contractor's method statements and working procedures and assure the contractor followed on site
  • Prepare lists of defects, monitor the progress of rectification works, and ensure all defects are satisfactorily rectified
  • To ensure all construction works have complied with statutory requirements
