Job Title: Resident Care Specialist
Clinical ResponsibilitiesThe Resident Care Specialist assists registered nurses in delivering high-quality nursing care to residents in a home setting. This includes:
- Assisting with the supervision of nursing aides and health attendants.
- Performing various nursing procedures, such as administering medications, wound dressing, and meal feeding.
- Ensuring resident comfort and good personal hygiene.
- Identifying symptoms of illnesses or decline in functional and cognitive abilities and advocating for early medical attention.
Training and Development
The Resident Care Specialist mentors and guides nursing aides and healthcare attendants in performing their duties. Additionally, they participate in upgrading programs to maintain clinical knowledge and develop work-required skills.
Administration
This role involves educating family members on residents' health conditions and helping them understand the holistic care provided. The Resident Care Specialist also ensures accurate documentation of residents' cases.
