Assistant Professor in English Language and Literacy Education

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as an Assistant/Associate Professor in English Language and Literacy Education at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and course development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as related activities such as supervision of teaching practice, and thesis supervision and examination.
Responsibilities- Contribute to teaching and course development at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Develop a robust research agenda and maintain a strong publication record.
- Undertake administrative and/or leadership roles and to contribute to other service-related activities at the department or institution level.
- Establish partnerships with local and international researchers and practitioners to explore avenues for research and teaching that will create an impact in the discipline and/or educational practice.
- Mentor junior faculty members and serve in NIE/NTU committees, and offer professional services to schools, to the Singapore Ministry of Education, and to other public education-related organizations if requested.
- PhD or EdD qualification in the area of English Language and Literacy education from a university of good international standing.
- Established track record of academic research, presentations, relevant publications in reputable peer-reviewed international journals in the area of English Language and Literacy at the primary level/for young learners and preferably within multilingual settings.
- Established record of excellent teaching and supervision in relevant areas at undergraduate or graduate levels (preferably both).
- Demonstrate academic leadership and service in their university and department, and in the profession.

Please note that shortlisted applicants will be first invited for an online interview. If selected to proceed to the next round, they will be invited for a campus visit where they will be expected to present a job talk, and to conduct a lesson in their area of expertise for our students at NIE.
