Job Title: Senior Public Health Officer (Disease Prevention)

About the Role:

To protect the health of the public by reducing the burden of communicable diseases through evidence-based policy formulation, implementation of effective disease prevention and control programs, including epidemiological surveillance programs and timely outbreak response and management.

You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires managing multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Formulation, implementation, monitoring and review of prevention and control strategies for airborne and droplet-borne diseases
  2. Epidemiological investigation and outbreak management for airborne and droplet-borne diseases
  3. Develop and implement disease surveillance programs for airborne and droplet-borne diseases
  4. Provide technical subject matter expertise for airborne and droplet-borne diseases
  5. Programme management and administration

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification, preferably good honours in a life science discipline; or medical or nursing background
  • Postgraduate degree in Public Health or Epidemiology or equivalent would be an advantage
  • 2-3 years' experience in public health would be an advantage
  • Strong analytical skillsets
  • Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously on different projects
  • Excellent organisational skills and resourcefulness
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across disciplines
  • Willing to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks
  • Willing to continuously keep up-to-date on new developments in the communicable diseases field
