About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Learning Innovations Manager to join the Centre for Innovation in Learning at Nanyang Technological University. Reporting directly to the Senior Assistant Head, the appointee will be essential in advancing data-driven innovation in teaching and learning, providing strategic direction for integrating emerging technologies and learning analytics dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and establish clear, achievable goals for the Learning Innovations team, fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage Resources: Manage the team's resources (e.g., tools, software, training) to ensure the effective use of learning analytics dashboards and other emerging technologies that support teaching and learning improvements.
  • Oversee Performance: Oversee the team's performance by assigning tasks strategically, offering guidance, and developing the team's skills to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Communicate Outcomes: Communicate team achievements and outcomes related to learning analytics and data-driven T&L projects to the university's management through comprehensive reports.
Champion Data-Driven Innovation in Teaching and Learning
  • Lead Framework Development: Lead the development of evidence-based frameworks and pedagogically sound design solutions, incorporating teacher-facing and student-facing learning analytics dashboards to optimize teaching and learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with Learning Data Specialists: Oversee the collaboration with Learning Data Specialists to analyze learning datasets, uncover insights, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in teaching practices and learning environments.
  • Present Data-Driven Findings: Present data-driven findings to the project team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with best practices in educational technology and learning sciences.
  • Collaborate on Faculty Professional Development: Collaborate on faculty professional development programs, equipping faculty with the skills to utilize learning analytics dashboards effectively in their teaching practices.
Collaboration for Faculty Development
  • Develop Strategies for Faculty Engagement: Work with cross-departmental teams to develop strategies for faculty engagement and academic development, leveraging learning analytics insights to inform instructional design and personalized learning approaches.
  • Develop Training Programs: Spearhead the development of training programs that help faculty integrate learning analytics dashboards into their course design, enabling data-driven decisions that improve student outcomes.
  • Lead Collaboration Efforts: Lead collaboration efforts with the university's Engagement, Planning, and Research team to share institute-wide knowledge on data-driven teaching and learning.
Research and Stay Abreast of Best Practices
  • Stay Informed about Emerging Trends: Stay informed about emerging trends in educational technologies and learning analytics on a local and global scale, ensuring that the Learning Innovations team remains at the forefront of data-driven teaching and learning innovations.
  • Conduct Research: Conduct research on the latest educational technology advancements and synthesize findings to continuously enhance teaching and learning experiences through the use of dashboards and learning analytics tools.
Lead Special Projects
  • Participate in Special Projects: Participate in and lead special projects to advance teaching and learning through data analytics and innovative educational technologies.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Collaborate across teams to develop and implement data-informed instructional strategies, using teacher-facing and student-facing dashboards to provide real-time feedback for continuous improvement in both faculty performance and student learning outcomes.
Requirements
  • University Degree: A University degree in Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, Data Analytics, or related fields.
  • Experience in Educational Technology: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in educational technology, learning analytics, or a related field within a higher education setting, with demonstrated leadership in integrating learning analytics into teaching and learning.
  • Proven Supervisory Experience: Proven supervisory experience, including managing or mentoring others in a data-driven educational technology environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of Emerging Educational Technologies: Strong knowledge of emerging educational technologies and the ability to integrate these into data-informed teaching and learning practices.
  • Experience in Data Analysis: Experience in data analysis to uncover themes and trends and the ability to interpret teacher-facing and student-facing learning analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience Delivering Training Programs: Experience delivering training programs that support faculty in leveraging learning analytics and using emerging educational tools effectively.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, Written, and Verbal Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner for diverse stakeholders, including faculty and leadership.
  • Experience with Data Visualization Tools: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) will be an advantage, particularly in the creation of interactive dashboards for faculty and students.
