Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Unix engineer with strong expertise in OpenShift containers to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of Unix-based platforms while driving containerization initiatives in a highly regulated banking environment.
This role involves working closely with infrastructure, operations, and security teams to support mission-critical banking applications. You will be responsible for managing, configuring, and optimizing Unix/Linux environments (RHEL, AIX, or Solaris) as well as performing patching, upgrades, and performance tuning across production and non-production systems.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving system-level incidents with minimal downtime, deploying, managing, and supporting Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises or hybrid environments, and building and maintaining containerized solutions for critical banking applications.
Furthermore, you will automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications using CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration tools, ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in container environments, provide operational support for core banking systems running on Unix/OpenShift platforms, and monitor system health, logs, and privileged access in line with compliance requirements.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- Deep, hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP), including managing day-2 operations like cluster upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of Ansible for automating infrastructure and application tasks.
- Proficiency with Red Hat's middleware products, such as JBoss EAP, AMQ, and 3scale, as well as an understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Red Hat Build of Keycloak (RHBK).
- Expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for storage management and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS) for securing container environments.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for custom automation, data manipulation, and administrative tasks.
- Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including command-line tools and system-level configuration.
- Experience with GitOps principles and tools like Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) for multi-cluster management and GitOps workflows.
