Job Position:
Purchasing Assistant


This position reports to the senior procurement director to oversee purchasing activities and ensure the quality and cost-effectiveness of purchased items.

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for maintaining positive supplier relationships, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with vendors to place orders for necessary products and/or raw materials under the guidance of a senior procurement director.
  • Support administrative tasks to maintain efficient purchasing department operations.
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
  • Verify product information, shipping details, cost, and delivery information before making a purchase.
  • Secure approval from Senior or Procurement Director before placing an order.
  • Assist in gathering procurement specifications and bids from suppliers to aid in selecting contractors.
  • Initial inspection of products and packaging for defects.

Essential Skills:
  • Minimum Diploma in business management, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement and logistical management.
