Job Title: Senior Cost Estimator

Overview

This is a key role for a professional with extensive experience in cost estimation and management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, civil engineering or a related field.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates, quotations and bills of quantities for various construction projects. They will also be required to review technical drawings and specifications to determine material, labor and time requirements.

In addition, the candidate will manage project budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all expenditures are properly accounted for and controlled.

The selected individual will also handle tender preparation, submission and negotiation with clients and subcontractors. This includes evaluating and certifying subcontractor claims, variations and progress payments.

Furthermore, the candidate will conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify work done. Finally, they will prepare final accounts and project reports, providing valuable insights for future projects.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of QS experience (preferably in steel structure or construction industry)
  • Strong knowledge of steel structure materials, fabrication and erection works
  • Familiarity with contract management, cost estimation and tender processes
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD or QS software
  • Good analytical, negotiation and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
