About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our research team as a Research Assistant/Research Associate. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects focused on infectious diseases, specifically malaria and arboviruses.

Responsibilities:
  • Support research projects by assisting in experiment planning, setup, and execution.
  • Conduct experiments involving rodents in vivo.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment, materials, and chemicals are properly maintained and prepared.
  • Familiarize yourself with laboratory safety protocols and procedures.

Data Management:
  • Gather and document experimental data accurately.
  • Use various software tools to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Organize records of research activities, protocols, and findings.
  • Participate in interpreting results and resolving experimental issues.

Inventory and Equipment Management:
  • Collaborate with the team to calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Track inventory levels of supplies and materials, and order replacements as needed.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Desirable: previous experience in a research BSL2 lab.
  • Strong foundation in laboratory techniques and biomedical research methodologies.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work individually and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
