Eye Care Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate eye care specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing top-quality eye care services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment and Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, vision and specialized eye tests, and pre-operative evaluations.
  • Assist with Procedures: Prepare patients for minor eye surgeries and procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and well-informed. Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and other medical procedures.
  • Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and eye drops, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about eye health, post-operative care, and the proper use of medications and eye care products.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all ophthalmic equipment and instruments are properly sterilized, maintained, and calibrated.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all treatments, procedures, and medications administered.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: Experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on ophthalmology or eye care, is an advantage. Those without clinic experience will be given on-the-job training.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and comfort patients. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
