About the Role

You will play a pivotal part in supporting our business in Asia Pacific by optimizing capital and funding deployment.

Your key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing capital management strategies to enhance capital and liquidity position, carrier structure in the APAC region.
  • Leading the capital planning process for relevant APAC entities, ensuring carriers are capitalized and dividends repatriated according to Group policies.
  • Providing timely management information on capital, liquidity, foreign exchange, and asset-liability position of relevant carriers.
  • Leveraging treasury expertise to support business and strategic initiatives.
  • Reviewing large transactions in APAC.
  • Maintaining awareness of regulatory, tax, and other developments impacting the APAC region.
  • You will provide advice to senior stakeholders on relevant matters. You will collaborate closely with local finance, actuarial, legal, regulatory, asset management, and transaction teams as well as the broader Treasury team.

About the Team

Capital Management is one of five teams within Group Treasury, responsible for capital and liquidity management, asset-liability management, and finance transaction review process across the Swiss Re Group. We are organized into three regional teams based in Zürich for EMEA, Armonk for the Americas, and Singapore for APAC, as well as two central teams focused on asset-liability management and capital steering for Swiss Re Group. However, we are flexible in structuring our tasks and frequently work together on initiatives across teams. We strive to continuously improve our understanding of value creation in the context of Swiss Re and use this knowledge to increase our effectiveness.

About You

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the reinsurance/insurance industry, preferably in risk management, actuarial, finance, or structuring.
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities.
  • Strong financial acumen with capital management/solvency proficiency, knowledge of capital regimes in APAC, and an economic capital regime (Solvency 2 or Swiss Solvency) preferred.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance products and markets.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance across accounting frameworks (economic, statutory, IFRS...).
  • Experience in reviewing or structuring large reinsurance transactions.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, including ability to work well in a virtual team environment, with strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute proactively to cross-functional initiatives with Finance, Actuarial, Legal, and Risk Management teams.
  • Global understanding and mentality, with an understanding and appreciation for local requirements.
  • University degree or professional qualification demonstrating solid analytical ability.
