Scrum Master Specialist

Job Description:

As a Scrum Master Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving our mission to harness technology for enhancing the health and well-being of clients' members, particularly vulnerable individuals in the community.

By joining this team, you will collaborate with like-minded professionals dedicated to devising innovative solutions for significant challenges faced in the healthcare industry.

The key responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Providing collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching to support the Scrum Team and the Scrum process.
  • Facilitating various meetings including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, feedback sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coaching the Scrum Team on the importance of clear and concise Backlog items.
  • Assisting the team in creating high-value products and managing defect triage while supporting the Product Owner in prioritization.
  • Coordinating dependencies and collaborating with other teams via Nexus scrums, ensuring effective decision-making and alignment.
  • Demonstrating a Lean-Agile Mindset through Servant Leadership, guiding the organization in its Scrum adoption.
  • Advocating for and coaching others on the Agile software development methodology.
  • Supporting initiatives that enhance the productivity of the Scrum Team by anticipating challenges, identifying risks, and proposing solutions.
  • Removing impediments that hinder team progress and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Holding a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Possessing 9-14 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master with a strong understanding of Agile values and principles.
  • Demonstrating expertise in agile methodologies, values, and procedures, as well as the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborating effectively with Product Owners to grasp key business objectives, develop backlog, and prioritize stories.
  • Mentoring team members on agile practices, facilitating team formation, and optimizing work alignment.
  • Tracking team performance metrics, promoting a high-performing Agile culture, and resolving conflicts positively.
  • Preferably having experience in the healthcare domain, specifically Medicaid, and being available to start promptly.

Desired Skills:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A deep understanding of Agile, SAFe/Nexus Principles, and their application in workplace culture.
  • Ability to guide agile teams in sprint activities, remove obstacles, and ensure optimal work alignment.
  • A proven track record in fostering a high-performing Agile culture and facilitating the establishment of new Agile teams.
