Job Description

Leadership and Strategic Management

This role involves overseeing the biotech manufacturing operations to achieve high-volume, high-quality products in a cost-efficient, business, and compliant manner. The Director will be responsible for championing incoming production and technology transfer activities to bring biotech operations to full commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage biotech manufacturing operations to meet strategic objectives.
  • Realize key performance metrics such as safe plant operations, on-time delivery, demand schedule, and product quality right first time.
  • Lead, guide, and develop the Biotech Operations team and support groups in regulatory and quality issues.
  • Develop and sustain a highly flexible and motivated business unit team.
  • Undertake operational management of department resource requirements and budget.
  • Partner with site management team to develop business and organizational direction.
  • Champion EHS, Business Compliance, and all other compliance-related matters.
  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for EHS and Energy performance and compliance.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Engineering, Science, or Pharmacy degree.
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including pharmaceutical mammalian cell culture biotech manufacturing operations.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience at managerial level.
  • Able to drive bottom-line results throughout the organization.
  • Visionary and strategic in approach.
  • Excellent influence management, communication, negotiation, motivation, and organization skills.
  • Strong people manager who can coach, develop others, and manage team dynamics.
  • Able to work effectively in teams across departments and with all levels of employees.
