Procurement Specialist Offshore

This role will involve ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of provisions and fresh water to vessels.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for handling end-to-end procurement activities, including raising requisitions, sourcing quotations, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery in accordance with purchasing standards.
  • Negotiations with suppliers will be a key aspect of this position, as well as fostering effective relationships with them.
  • Managing the supply of provisions and fresh water to vessels will also be an important responsibility.
  • Additionally, the individual will need to ensure timely processing and delivery tracking of all orders.
  • Developing inventory systems and performing regular stock audits of received items will be crucial to the success of this role.
  • Coordinating with Superintendents and vessel personnel on requisition matters will also be necessary.
  • Close coordination with the Shipping division and the appointed launch representative will be required.
  • Undertaking additional tasks as instructed by the Purchasing Manager will also be part of the job.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Possessing a Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent field is essential.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in Marine or a related sector is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills are necessary.
  • Detail-focused and well-organized individuals are highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools is also required.
