Job Title: Senior Legal AdvisorAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced legal professional to provide comprehensive legal support for our business operations across Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. As a senior legal advisor, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on various investment product offerings, banking transactions, and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal guidance on all aspects of wealth management, including financial products, credit transactions, and investment activities.
  • Draft and review bank documentation related to account management, credit products, and investment offerings.
  • Evaluate and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations across different jurisdictions, safeguarding the company's reputation and managing legal risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and different units on bank projects, ensuring effective communication and timely delivery.
  • Advise on regulatory issues, account-related matters, banking secrecy, data privacy, and cross-border business operations.
  • Support the implementation of new initiatives and products, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Work closely with internal clients to meet their needs while overseeing legal considerations.
  • Manage tight timelines for ongoing projects while supporting day-to-day business-as-usual matters efficiently.
  • Oversee litigious matters and client disputes.
Requirements:
  • LAW degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 6-10 years of proven experience in banking and regulatory compliance, preferably within a law firm or bank, with a focus on wealth management. Some experience in litigation is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of banking laws, regulations, and best practices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend effective workaround solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently.
