Role Overview

The VP - Private Banker, Thai Market role at Barclays Bank PLC involves establishing and nurturing profitable partnerships with corporate and individual clients.

This is a bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success. The position requires a deep understanding of client financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support data analysis and trend identification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance. Support data analysis from various sources, including investment portfolios and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
  • Research and Analysis: Research and understand client industry trends, regulatory landscapes, and competitive environments to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Solution Design: Design customised solutions addressing client-specific needs and objectives, incorporating products and services from the bank's portfolio.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Communicate value propositions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms beneficial for both clients and the bank.
  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance to clients on financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management, and wealth management strategies.
Vice President Expectations
  • Strategic Contributions: Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes.
  • Leadership Roles: Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for departmental future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes.
  • Leadership Behaviours: Demonstrate clear leadership behaviours creating an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver excellent standards.
Requirements
  • Linguistic Proficiency: Fluency in Thai language to communicate with Thai clients.
  • Business Development: Excellent network in the Thai market for business development and good understanding of investment needs.
  • Candidate Skills: Existing network of Thai private bank clients for business development.
Regulatory Compliance

This role is regulated by MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore). Barclays Bank PLC is required by law to confirm the Legal Right to Work in any role applied for.

The estimated salary range for this position is £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
