Urban Nature Researcher Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to join our team in the Centre for Science of Urban Nature at the National Parks Board.

  • This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research examining how people experience, use, and benefit from nature in urban Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing studies on themes such as recreational quality, mental well-being, social connectivity, and resilience. They will also collect, analyse, and interpret data using traditional research methods and GIS technologies to model and map human–nature relationships.

  • Lead innovative research projects examining human–nature interactions.
  • Design and implement studies on themes such as recreational quality, mental well-being, social connectivity, and resilience.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful research.
  • Present findings through geospatial visualisations, technical reports, publications, and stakeholder presentations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or PhD degree in Sociology, Psychology, Human Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Public Policy. Experience with geospatial analysis tools is advantageous but not required.

Desirable Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and deliver research projects. Strong analytical, writing, and public presentation skills are essential. Effective interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities are also required.
