We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join our investment team. As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing global and Asian equity strategies, as well as conducting comprehensive fundamental analysis on small to mid-cap companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-depth financial modelling and valuation analysis of assigned markets.
  • Building detailed financial models and performing valuation analysis.
  • Analyzing industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and market trends.
  • Evaluating management quality, corporate governance, and business strategy.
  • Conducting primary research including corporate IR meetings, broker analyst meetings, channel checks, etc.

Investment Process:

  • Preparing detailed financial models and questionnaires for fundamental research interviews.
  • Building own earnings analysis and investment decision-making processes.
  • Determining position size and target price if necessary.

Market Coverage & Idea Generation:

  • Screening and identifying attractive investment opportunities across assigned universe.
  • Attending investor conferences, company meetings, and industry events.
  • Collaborating with sell-side research analysts and leveraging broker insights.
  • Developing sector expertise and thematic investment frameworks.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Monitoring position-level and portfolio-level risk exposures.
  • Ensuring compliance with investment guidelines and mandate restrictions.
  • Assessing liquidity risk and market impact of portfolio positions.
  • Implementing appropriate hedging strategies when necessary.
  • Supporting regulatory reporting and audit processes.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an equity analyst on the buy-side or sell-side.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
  • Genuine passion for fundamental, bottom-up equity analysis and flexible position management.
  • Understanding of specific equity markets; familiarity with Asian or global markets advantageous.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research and synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for investment presentations and documentation.
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Eagerness to learn from experienced investors and develop portfolio management expertise.
