Crisis Support Specialist

The Crisis Support Specialist plays a critical role in the Core Services team by conducting initial assessments of clients' risks and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Initial Assessment and Classification
  • Classify incoming calls, emails, and text messages according to risk levels
  • Make outgoing calls, emails, or text messages where necessary for assessment purposes
Frontline Response
  • Provide first-level support to low-risk clients as needed
  • Offer information on available services or community resources to third-party callers
Support Coordination
  • Refer cases to the Clinical Team for crisis support or counseling
  • Coordinate emergency support activations when necessary

Educational Qualifications:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling (preferred)

Relevant Experience:

  • On-the-job training available
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the Social Service Sector (preferred)

Desirable Traits & Attitude:

  • Self-motivated
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to perform shift work, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and public holidays
