Job Summary:

Co-Assessment Support Specialist

The Part-Time Co-Assessor will collaborate with the Trainer in conducting assessment sessions and facilitating assessments to ensure their efficient execution while maintaining assessment integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate Assessment Sessions:

    • Support the Trainer in managing assessments, ensuring learners comprehend the process and requirements.
    • Handle logistical duties during sessions, guaranteeing a smooth experience.
    • Guide learners on assessment procedures, time management, and expectations.

  2. Assist Trainer in Conducting Assessments:

    • Accompany the Trainer during assessments, observing learners, monitoring progress, and providing assistance with procedural questions or technical issues.
    • Help assess learners based on established competency standards, ensuring fairness and unbiased assessment.

  3. Conduct Oral Recovery Sessions:

    • Pursue oral recovery sessions when required, asking leading questions to clarify or elaborate learner responses.
    • Document original and final answers provided by learners during oral recovery.
    • Evaluate recovery sessions for professionalism and adherence to FirstCom Academy standards.

  4. Ensure Proper Documentation:

    • Complete all necessary assessment documentation, including oral recovery records and Assessment Summary Records (ASR).
    • Maintain accurate, secure storage, and timely processing of assessment-related paperwork, adhering to confidentiality and record-keeping policies.

  5. Sustain Assessment Integrity:

    • Firmly adhere to FirstCom Academy's assessment guidelines to guarantee fair, transparent assessments conducted with integrity.
    • Monitor and report any suspected breaches of assessment integrity, including misconduct or unethical behavior.
    • Execute oral recovery sessions ethically, refraining from providing answers, and document accurately.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in assessment, teaching, or training, particularly within a WSQ framework, is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with learners professionally and supportively.
  • Able to maintain focus, manage time effectively, and pay attention to detail during assessments.
  • Team player who can assist the Trainer and contribute to assessment process success.

An essential aspect of this role involves upholding fairness, transparency, and accurate learner assessment documentation.
