We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical structures, modules, and assemblies to support advanced laser and optics systems.

  • Drive mechanical design requirements specification
  • Conduct feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed mechanical design, tolerance stack-up analysis, and detailed drawings
  • Hold design reviews throughout the design process
  • Prototype assembly, testing, and troubleshooting

Strong collaboration with research scientists, optics engineers, laser systems engineers, and laser users is essential to ensure flawless integration and testing at the subsystem and system level.

Good communication with suppliers is also necessary to ensure all critical design requirements are well controlled and achieved.

Design challenges may include:

  • Design for high precision: knowledge in optics engineering (training provided)
  • Design for robustness: vibration control and thermal management
  • Design for cleanliness: photo contamination control, purge flow analysis
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate (Academic) in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years of experience.

Key qualifications include:

  • Solid understanding in mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods
  • Hands-on R&D experience in mechanical precision design
  • Efficiency in using Creo/Solidworks
  • Strong analytical mindset in complex problem-solving, demonstrated capabilities in delivering solutions through detail analysis
  • Learning mindset towards new technology and skill sets
  • Passion in mechanical cutting-edge technology in-depth innovation
  • Great team player
