Secondary Library Support Specialist

As a key member of the library team, this role plays a vital part in supporting teachers and school librarians.
The Library Assistant at Stamford American International School will be responsible for ensuring student safety, enforcing rules, managing facilities and equipment, and collaborating with the Librarians to maintain library resources.
This dynamic individual will supervise students, respond to emergencies, and prepare accurate reports. Additionally, they must have a great passion for literature, be capable of assisting students and teachers in locating and selecting materials by becoming familiar with the secondary library collection.
Efficiency and familiarity with technology are essential to assist the secondary Teacher Librarian. This role requires a keen learner who is adaptable and able to work effectively in a small team, with excellent digital and information literacy skills.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills to maintain a busy class schedule calendar, a love of books, reading, and libraries, and a willingness to learn the collection. Relevant administrative and technical experience, preferably in a library setting, is also required.
Familiarity with Macs, 1:1 laptop educational environments, subscription databases, and online social media applications is highly desirable. The ability to train patrons in the use of these tools and systems is also an asset.

- Library or Information Studies qualification preferred
- Demonstrated experience in administrative, clerical, and/or office management required
