Integration Specialist Role

The role of the Integration Specialist is pivotal in Systems Engineering, involving the seamless integration of software and hardware components within a complex system. This entails coordinating and executing integration activities, resolving technical issues, and ensuring diverse components operate effectively while meeting performance and functional requirements.

This specialist must possess exceptional problem-solving skills, be able to analyze system issues, and collaborate with various teams to ensure integration aligns with design specifications. Additionally, this role involves creating comprehensive documentation and engineering artefacts, producing automated scripts for system administration tasks, and implementing testing tools for system assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successful integration and testing of incremental software releases across systems and/or subsystems.
  • Management of setup environments to facilitate integration, testing, and acceptance activities.
  • Definition and contribution to testing activities across multiple platforms.
  • Analysis of system/subsystem technical and functional issues.
  • Collaboration with System, Subsystem, and Infrastructure teams to ensure integration activities align with design specifications.
  • Production of documentation and engineering artefacts with expected levels of compliance.
  • Creation of scripts to automate system administration tasks.
  • Implementation and management of test & measuring tools for system performance assessment.
  • Technical support provision to junior integrators and V&V teams.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience holding similar positions integrating complex software-centric real-time systems.
  • Ability to comprehend Virtualisation Platforms/Operating Systems (Clients/Servers).
  • Scripting proficiency in Python, Shell, XML.
  • DevOps and Automation Tools: Ansible, Jenkins.
  • Configuration Management: GIT (Bitbucket), JIRA.
  • Cybersecurity expertise: LDAP, AD, PKI.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment.
