Job Overview

This role is responsible for leading IT project management within a regional banking context. The successful candidate will have expertise in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on-going projects to enhance collaboration, performance, security, and service level across various banking systems located in Tokyo.
  • Plan and lead IT system implementation projects that involve multiple departments across Tokyo and Singapore to enhance banking IT capabilities from a regional perspective.
  • Provide technical expertise to regional teams and foster collaboration with stakeholders in the Japan Head Office.
Risk Management
  • Escalate and resolve major issues timely to Management and Head Office.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as liaison between end users and IT team to understand business requirements for Forex systems, including designing and implementing new solutions or enhancements.
  • Partner with IT Planning department to ensure alignment of company platform architecture processes, standards, strategies, and roadmap with JRI and SMBC Group.
  • Collaborate with Japan Head Office to establish internal controls for entity management and governance.
Project Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present regular project reports and documentations.
  • Develop and propose budget plans for identified project initiatives and negotiate with Head Office for support.
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders and IT teams in a timely and concise manner.
  • Craft full-scaled proposals with technical solution teams, coordinate resources, and define clear roles with all project resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent, with at least 10 years of experience providing IT services in a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of cash management services and remittance services of banks.
  • Experience in IT system development project management and delivery services in large organizations.
  • Proven experience in collaboration and workgroup project delivery.
