Proposal Engineer Job Description

 

  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates for major projects.
  • Accurately estimate project quantities and costs, including take-off of HVAC equipment, preparation of IO summary, DDC controller sizing, field device selection, BOQ preparation, costing, and valve selection.
  • Collaborate with the Proposal/Sales Manager on technical and costing matters during contract acquisition.
  • Develop and implement estimating strategies to meet tender deadlines.
  • Review and interpret engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, and scope of works.
  • Adhere to internal Tendering/Proposal policies and procedures to ensure consistent and controlled work processes.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant working experience, preferably in ACMV (Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation) / BMS (Building Management Systems).
  • Strong analytical capability and keen attention to detail in calculations, checks, and summarising data.
