Job Title: Science Laboratory Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Science Laboratory Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of science laboratories, preparing materials and equipment for lessons, and assisting teachers with laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of science laboratories, including stockrooms and storage areas;
  • Prepare materials and equipment for lessons, including setting up apparatus and equipment for experiments;
  • Assist teachers with laboratory activities, including helping students with experiments and demonstrations;
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of chemicals, equipment, and other resources;
  • Liaise with external suppliers to source relevant science multimedia, activity ideas, and resources for teachers;
  • Collaborate with the Science department to plan and implement effective laboratory sessions;
  • Communicate effectively with teachers to prepare items/apparatus/equipment needed for science practical examinations, performance tasks, and workshops;

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Science or related field;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in maintaining science laboratories;
  • Experience working in an educational environment is preferred;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge in stores/resource management and procurement;
  • Able to multitask and work independently;
  • Team player with excellent communication skills;
