Job Title: Science Laboratory Professional

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Science Laboratory Professional. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency of our science laboratories, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that chemicals and materials are stored safely.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with teachers and other staff members to prepare apparatus and equipment for science classes. They will also be responsible for sourcing relevant science multimedia, activity ideas, and resources for teachers, as well as liaising with external suppliers for regular maintenance of lab equipment.

In addition, the successful candidate will assist the Science department in the procurement of items required by teachers for laboratory work, including sourcing quotations and making recommendations to management.

The role will also involve communicating effectively with teachers to prepare items/apparatus/equipment needed for science practical examinations, performance tasks, and workshops conducted by the Science department.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess excellent troubleshooting skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with inventory management, laboratory management, and procurement. Additionally, they should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A background in chemistry or a related field is highly desirable, but not essential. What is crucial is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to maintain accurate records and documentation.
