Job Description

This position aims to address critical issues in realizing structural optimization and inverse design methods for large-scale optoelectronic devices. The main targets are threefold:

  • Understanding the inverse design of nano-photonics devices, AI-enhanced electromagnetic structure optimization, high-performance electromagnetic structure optimization algorithms, etc.
  • Studying photolithography and electron beam lithography to process coupling structures on large-scale meta-optical devices, integrating optoelectronic chips, etc., for use in fields such as optical communication and optical computation.
  • Finding practical schemes and constructing the setup to demonstrate the performance of photonic devices, such as the detection of orbital angular momentum of vortex light, as well as the evaluation of multiplexing and optical computing chips, etc.

The candidate should possess in-depth physical insights and interdisciplinary knowledge of electromagnetics, electrodynamics, parallel computation, computational electromagnetics, and semiconductor technology, etc. Practical experience in the design, fabrication, measurement, and characterization of nanophotonic devices is required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a PhD degree in Physics, Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant area with a strong background in inverse design. Additionally, working experience in the field of photonic devices, topology optimization, and high-performance electromagnetic computation is essential. Mathematics and specific knowledge required in electromagnetics, electrodynamics, computer graphics, and computer-aided engineering are also necessary. Technical proficiency in theoretical and numerical modeling of integrated optical circuits, coding high-performance computational programs, and preparation experience in the construction of integrated optical circuit measurement platforms is required. Strong publication records in reputed international journals in the field of inverse design, electromagnetic finite element calculation, and integrated optical circuits are highly desirable.
