Job Position: Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Fellow to join our team in the field of sustainable aquaculture. The successful candidate will be working on a project focused on developing innovative solutions for sustainable fish production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive research in fish reproduction, genetics, diagnostics, health, and developmental biology.
  • Analyze research findings and disseminate data through various channels.
  • Achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs) and guide researchers through training programs.
  • Coordinate with external collaborators to develop project plans and objectives.
  • Document, collate, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and testing services from vendors and manage purchasing requests.
  • Monitor and document project issues, expenses, and budget tracking.
  • Mentor students participating in final year projects, internships, short-term work attachments, and similar programs.
  • Design experiments and prepare regular progress reports for project updates.

The selected candidate will be employed on a contract basis and may be based at one of the local partner institutions, either full-time or on a rotational basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • PhD in Aquaculture, Fish Reproduction, Fish Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including data analysis software.
  • Strong documentation skills, laboratory techniques, and research and data analysis abilities.
  • Relevant experience demonstrated through scientific publications in the areas of expertise.
  • Possess sound planning, organizing, and multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of responsibility for completing assigned duties on time.
