Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Vessel Performance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing vessel performance and utilization by leveraging digital tools.

You will coordinate closely with vessels, technical managers, operations, and commercial teams to identify performance gaps, optimize voyage execution, and drive measurable improvements in fuel efficiency, emissions, and asset deployment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of vessel performance data and KPIs.
  • Analyze voyages (fuel, speed profiles, machinery efficiency) vs. benchmarks; recommend operational adjustments to reduce emissions and fuel burn.
  • Provide insights on hull/propeller/machinery performance to optimize cleaning, dry-dock, and maintenance schedules.
  • Align deployment strategies with performance data in partnership with chartering/operations; support commercial teams on cost–efficiency trade-offs.
  • Benchmark performance against peer fleet and industry standards; handle speed & consumption claims for T/C tonnage.
  • Negotiate hull/propeller inspection & cleaning contracts and arrange services with Operations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • A degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related discipline is required.
  • Seagoing experience as Chief/2nd Engineer preferred; or strong shore-based fleet performance/technical background will be advantageous.
  • At least 5 years in ship performance monitoring, technical operations, or energy efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with fleet performance tools; strong analytics and large-dataset interpretation skills.
  • Familiarity with IMO regulations and emission-reduction strategies is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office and BI tools; experience with Coach Onboard, Veslink forms, and IMOS is a plus.
