Job Title: Marine Engine Service Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the maintenance and repair of marine engines, azimuth thrusters, clutches, remote controllers, and shafting.

About This Role:
  1. Engine Performance Optimization: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with marine engines, azimuth thrusters, clutches, remote controllers, and shafting to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Tech Support & Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to field workers and agents on marine engine maintenance and repair.
  3. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with the head office technology department to resolve technical queries and ensure effective communication across teams.
  4. Maintenance Scheduling: Maintain a regular schedule of maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with manufacturer's guidelines and prevent equipment downtime.
  5. Purchasing & Procurement: Select and procure maintenance parts as required to minimize costs and optimize inventory management.
  6. Performance Analysis: Analyze and document ship visit histories to identify trends and areas for improvement in marine engine performance.
  7. Equipment Health Checks: Conduct regular health checks on marine equipment to detect potential issues before they become major problems.
  8. Commissioning & Training: Assist with commissioning new ships and provide technical education to crew members and agents on marine engine operation and maintenance.
  9. Test Strategy Development: Attend engineering meetings and contribute to the development of test strategies and plans to improve marine engine performance and efficiency.
  10. Site-Based Testing: Participate in site-based technical tests and provide technical support as needed to ensure successful project execution.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Marine Engine Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of marine engines, azimuth thrusters, clutches, remote controllers, and shafting, including their design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting & Performance Testing: Experience with troubleshooting, performance testing, and tuning of marine engines to optimize their efficiency and reliability.
  • Technology Familiarity: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Agile, and Open Source technologies used in the marine industry.
  • Electrical Systems & Electronics: Strong understanding of electrical systems, electronics, and performance benchmarking, including the use of tools and equipment to diagnose and repair marine engine electrical systems.
  • Fast-Paced Work Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks to meet project objectives.
