Community Development Manager

About the Job

">

The Community Development Manager plays a key role in fostering student development and co-curricular learning by actively engaging with student club leaders and members.

">

This position supports the development of ownership, social responsibility, integration, and accountability in alignment with educational goals.

">

Additionally, the role functions as an effective intermediary between university management and student governing bodies to ensure alignment with the institution's vision and mission.

">

Key Responsibilities:

">

Manage student academic clubs, special interest groups, and those engaged in community service, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and code of conduct.

">

Supervise and mentor student leaders in the management of their club activities, identify developmental gaps and opportunities, recommend and support the implementation of appropriate initiatives.

">

Support the implementation of strategies to develop a culture of social responsibility, community contribution, inter-disciplinary collaborations, and integration among students.

">

Support initiatives to develop strategic partnerships which enhance student development in areas of interests and community service/volunteerism.

">

Prepare portfolio data analytics and reports for regulators and senior management.

">

Requirements

">

A good degree from a recognized institution with at least 5 years of work experience.

">

Experience in youth development through mentoring and coaching is essential.

">

Knowledge of youth aspirations, developmental needs, and how these might be achieved in line with the institution's vision for its graduates.

">

Familiarity with the volunteer and social services sector, social entrepreneurship, and how the public and private sectors work collaboratively to create social impact.

">

Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

">

Analytical critical thinkers who are comfortable with change and dynamic environments are preferred.

">

Good quantitative and qualitative analysis skills are necessary.

">

Strong collaborative mindset and people management skills are essential.

">
