The Senior Manager, Sports Development, Student Life reports directly to the Assistant Director, Student Life, and is responsible for managing and implementing strategies for the division aligned with SIT strategic goals. This includes planning and developing the division and its programmes across all campuses.

The Senior Manager contributes to creating a vibrant student life, building upon the division’s eight main pillars: Leadership Development, Global Citizenship, Diversity and Inclusion, Performing Arts, Sports Development, Student Organisations, Counselling, and Campus Engagement. These pillars exist to co-create a holistic educational environment for the students.

**Key Responsibilities**
- This position will oversee Sports Development - which includes but is not limited to overseeing sports clubs & varsity teams and managing the student athletes, team leaders and coaches. Managing sports facilities, training schedules, promoting of sports activities and healthy lifestyle to the student body and SIT larger community.
- Mentor and guide the internal staff within the division in training & developing the students through the implementation of holistic student programmes. Provide leadership to ensure optimal and updated policies, systems, and procedures.
- Manage and guide sports teams through Tertiary competitions locally and regionally. E.g. (Non-exhaustive), Singapore University Games (SUniG), Inter-Varsity-Polytechnic Games (IVP), ASEAN University Games (AUG), World University Games (WUG), World University Championships (WUCs)
- Ensure students' safety and well-being by developing relevant initiatives and programmes, including risk management, responding to issues and challenges in a diverse environment, providing guidance and leadership in resolving complex matters and problems.
- Develop the division’s stakeholder management, establishing strategic partnerships with government agencies, statutory boards, overseas universities and local autonomous universities, community organisations to promote exchange of expertise, knowledge, and culture.
- Responsible for expanding the network of and maintaining the relationship with external partners and stakeholders allowing enriching opportunities for students to develop their personal and professional skills.
- Carry out administrative functions that include but are not limited to procurement and budget management. E.g. Hiring of head coaches for various sports, management and procurement of sports attire/equipment, etc.
- Assist the Assistant Director in driving the division’s strategic planning and goals and developing short-term and long-term work plans in view of the division’s main eight pillars of work.
- Ad doc projects as assigned by Director of Student Life.

**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable University with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in a similar senior managerial role in either established corporations or Institutes of Higher Learning.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience in divisional and organisational achievements, having displayed excellent management skills, focus, and accountability.
- Extensive industry network that can be leveraged to forge partnerships to create mentoring and networking opportunities for students.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect, lead, motivate, and inspire in a diverse, multicultural campus and report to stakeholders in an appropriate manner.
- Demonstrated professional, ethical, and collaborative values and behaviours that engender integrity, trust, and respect consistent with the responsibilities of this position.
- A strong sense of purpose and passion to develop students, stay current, and be at the forefront of the industry, and am committed to continuous learning and personal development.
- Energetic and adaptable, with the demonstrated abilities to deal with new and changing situations and embrace challenges, making full use of each opportunity with enthusiasm and empathy.
- Willingness, commitment, and passion to encourage ideas and develop ground-level initiatives, connecting with students driven by a genuine interest in their wellbeing.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of office hours and on weekends.
