Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Sommelier to lead our wine and beverage program. This role requires a passion for fine wines, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service in a dynamic dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests warmly and understand their preferences to make personalized wine recommendations.
  • Curate and update the wine list to feature key regions from around the world.
  • Develop a profitable wine strategy aligned with the restaurant concept and clientele.
  • Foster strong relationships with wine suppliers to source exclusive selections.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team on wine pairings for seasonal menus.
  • Provide professional wine presentation, explaining aromas, styles, and vintages.
  • Host wine dinners, tastings, and private events to drive engagement.
  • Train service staff on wine knowledge to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Set wine sales targets and review performance with management.
  • Oversee proper wine storage and manage inventory to reduce waste.
  • Handle guest feedback, inquiries, and complaints professionally.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of sommelier or wine service experience.
  • Formal wine certification (WSET, CMS, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of global wines, including sake and Japanese wine.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for hospitality and guest interaction.
  • Team player with a flexible, hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage.
