Job Title: Assistant Conservator/Conservator

This is an opportunity to join our team as a skilled conservator who will work on preserving and protecting paper-based archival records of historical significance.

  • You will be responsible for assessing the condition of the records, recommending appropriate conservation techniques, and overseeing the implementation of these techniques.
  • Your role will involve supervising and setting standards for repositories and other storage environments, monitoring trends, and designing remedial solutions to correct any irregularities.
  • You will also lead risk assessments to ensure proper housekeeping environmental controls, storage conditions, and assessment of recommendations needed for records in our repositories.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in conservation, collection care, or heritage science, and a strong interest in fine arts, culture, and heritage. You should also possess good time management and planning skills, able to multitask, and strong communication skills with ability to work within a team and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Conservation, Collection Care, Heritage Science or related field
  • Relevant experience in conservation, collection care, or heritage science

  • Good time management and planning skills, able to multitask
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work within a team and engage stakeholders at all levels
