Job Title: School Science Support AssistantAbout the Role: As a School Science Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring students receive high-quality science education. You will be working closely with teachers and other staff members to create an engaging learning environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up apparatus and resources for science practical lessons.
  • Ensure the science rooms are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary materials.
  • Foster a cooperative environment by collaborating with teachers and other staff members.
  • Accompany students on learning journeys and provide support during after-school lessons.
  • Develop and maintain a school garden through watering, composting, and hydroponics.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as inventory management, data entry, and laboratory management.
  • Additional duties may include assisting with events, preparing teaching materials, and maintaining equipment.
Requirements: A minimum GCE 'O' Level qualification is required. At least 3 years of experience as a science lab assistant is preferred. Prior experience in a school environment would be beneficial. Familiarity with handling and interacting with young children is essential. Good communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role. Basic computing skills in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel are also required. Preference will be given to candidates with basic knowledge in Primary Science activities and its curriculum, preparation and environmental-science activities in primary schools, e.g., gardening, hydroponics system.Benefits: Working in a supportive team environment, contributing to students' educational journey, and developing your skills and expertise in science education.
