Job Title: Fire Protection Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Specialist to join our team. As a Fire Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property by implementing effective fire protection strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor fire control room systems in assigned areas, including all fire detection and suppression systems as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct regular fire safety patrols, inspecting escape routes, firefighting equipment, and hazardous material storage.
  • Respond to fire alarm activations or emergencies and support the incident commander in firefighting and evacuation efforts.
  • Serve as firewatcher during hot work operations; ensure proper permits and safety checks are in place.
  • Report and communicate all fire safety incidents, defects, and operational irregularities to relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience as an operational firefighter with a reputable organization.
  • Physically fit and able to respond to fire incidents and emergencies effectively.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm and suppression systems is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice and legislation.
  • Attentive, reliable, and able to work rotating shifts.
