Cost Management Specialist

The Cost Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity of projects by overseeing costs, generating reports, and suggesting corrective measures to optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and manage project costs, providing dashboards and regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates for new and ongoing initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain cost control procedures tailored to each project, ensuring proper cost coding and classification.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of project changes and support risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor spending on vendors, subcontractors, and internal resources; review invoices and claims for compliance with agreements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate cost data and provide documentation for finance and audits.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in cost management or project controls, ideally in energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, contracts, and financial principles.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with cost management software is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Required skills include cost accounting, budgeting, MS Excel, risk assessment, inventory management, estimation, shipbuilding engineering, accounting, compliance, and auditing.
