Job Description:
This role involves supporting cargo and passenger movements to and from both McMurdo and South Pole Stations, Antarctica. Your responsibilities will include conducting daily maintenance checks on automated and manual material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and Delta III transport vehicles.

You will use material handling equipment for cargo loading and unloading operations, including wheeled forklifts with 4,000-15,000 lb. capacities and cargo sleds.

Follow safety and security precautions for handling and storing hazardous materials, special cargo, mail, and passenger baggage. Palletize cargo for shipment via cargo aircraft, ensuring cargo is secured with appropriate devices and equipment in accordance with current regulations.

Evaluate and document overage, shortage, or damage upon arrival of cargo. Receive, identify, and distribute cargo to end-users in an efficient manner without compromising condition of cargo.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on automated and manual material handling equipment.
  • Use material handling equipment for cargo loading and unloading operations.
  • FOLLOW safety and security precautions when handling hazardous materials and special cargo.
  • Palletize cargo for shipment via cargo aircraft.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in functions such as loading and unloading aircraft, operating material handling equipment, or processing records related to passenger and cargo movement by airlift.

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience with remote logistics operations.
