
Dessert Preparation Specialist

The Pastry Commis is a key team member, responsible for supporting the preparation and presentation of pastries and desserts. This role demands attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing daily mise-en-place and food production.
- E nsure proper handling and storage of all food products at correct temperatures.
- Support with decorating pastries and desserts to ensure visually appealing presentation.
- Maintain high standards of quality throughout dessert offerings.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient cooking and manage special requests and food allergies.
- Regularly take inventory of food supplies and other products.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Supervisor.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of kitchen experience, preferably in a fine dining restaurant.
- A strong understanding of oral and written instructions in English.
- The ability to handle multiple priorities and work under stress.
- Maintain international health guidelines for food preparation and safety.
- The ability to perform manual labor and stand/walk for more than 6 hours per day.
Physical Requirements:
- Modest exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Modest physical activity, such as handling objects up to 25 kilograms.
