Job Opportunity

This is a temporary contract position for an Additive Manufacturing Specialist. The successful candidate will support ongoing research, teaching, and outreach activities in the field of Digital Fabrication.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design Optimization

    • Apply design strategies suited for LPBF, SLA, and FDM technologies to drive innovation and ensure safe lab operations.

  • Additive Manufacturing Operations

    • Prepare builds and operate additive manufacturing machines, including LPBF, SLA, and FDM, as well as AM material processing equipment.
    • Perform post-processing, part inspection, and documentation to maintain high-quality output.

  • Laboratory Support Services

    • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs to ensure compliance.
    • Maintain lab equipment, manage materials inventory, and assist in safety compliance to create a secure work environment.

  • Tutoring and Student Support

    • Assist in hands-on training for students, providing expert guidance on additive manufacturing techniques.

  • Outreach and Engagement Initiatives

    • Participate in outreach events and exhibitions showcasing AM capabilities, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
    • Help design and fabricate demonstration models for public engagement, enhancing the impact of our work.

This role requires relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, or related fields. Strong communication skills are also essential for success in this position.

PREFERRED SKILLS include hands-on experience with Parametric CAD software, slicer software, and 3D printers, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
